Dining Highlights
A few dining highlights include lobster night (cliche, I know), Indian food in the main dining room, free breakfast at Johnny Rockets (menu here), cinnamon swirl danish at brunch in MDR, Italian night — Arancini, Lasagna, Tiramisu, and endless fresh fruit. ❤︎
Favorite Onboard Experiences
- Ice shows were incredible (but chilly! bring a jacket or scarf)
- Flowrider Surf Simulator
- Watch & Scotch Event where I tried and discovered I loved Johnny Walker Island Green
- The waterslides are so much fun!
Stateroom
We stayed in Symphony of the Seas cabin 3198, an Oceanview cabin. This was my first time staying in an Oceanview cabin and I have to say it was a game-changer. I was so impressed with the size of the window and what a difference it made compared to an interior cabin.
Entertainment
Royal Caribbean has some of the best entertainment on a cruise ship, in my opinion. On this cruise we enjoyed Flight Dare to Dream, Hiro in the Aqua Theater, Hairspray, adapted from Broadway, Ice Shows, many talented musicians, as well as all the free activities available on board that aren’t “entertainment” per say, but are definitely entertaining. 8)
What Surprised Me
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the waterslides and wish I had spent more time going down them!
This ship (Symphony) was such a blast for all ages, not just families with kids. With mini golf, ice skating, a carousel, a dry slide, shows, unlimited pizza, and one of my favorite features of any cruise — ordering anything you want in the dining room — this cruise was an absolute blast.
I was also impressed with our stop in Labadee. It was really beautiful just floating in the water, even on an overcast day, with views of island mountains in the background.
Most of all, it was a treasure to spend time with family we hadn’t seen in a long time. ❤︎
